This is a recreation of the Miss Universe Sarah Coventry Crown, the longest-reigning crown in Miss Universe history, worn from 1963 to 2001.
Made by the celebrated American jewelry maker Sarah Coventry, the crown is set with rhinestones, and its centerpiece is a crowned lady holding a scepter — a symbol of empowerment and grace. Because rhinestones were easy to replicate, outgoing titleholders were often given their own version of the crown as a keepsake.
The crown was first worn by Ieda Maria Vargas of Brazil, crowned Miss Universe 1963, and modified in 1973 to improve wearability — the later version earning the nicknames "Lady Crown" and "Chandelier Crown." It was last worn by Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico, Miss Universe 2001, closing a run of nearly forty years that included legends like Gloria Diaz of the Philippines (1969) and Margie Moran (1973).
A beautiful crown for pageant fans, titleholders, and anyone who loves a classic full crown — perfect for Miss Universe fans, contestants, titleholders, and pageant celebrations.
